4 Q&A’s with the VP of FARRAGUT Work Comp

Durham, NC – July 17, 2012. Posted by Shelley Hare.

Recently, our marketing department sat down with Allen Gavilan, VP of the Workers’ Compensation division here at FARRAGUT, to discuss what is happening in his department.

Q: What are the latest developments in the Workers’ Compensation department?

A: Focus is what is really energizing us. I’m excited because we are committing a focus in the workers’ comp area and are building on the new relationships that we have made through winning the CDX (Central Data Exchange) contract here in NC.

Last year we were casting a wider net and leveraging our mobile team. However, our success with our high NPS (Net Promoter Score) with our workers’ comp customers has really encouraged us to go deeper into this field and serve our clients better.

Although we have over 128 years of work comp experience and know the industry very well, we are excited to expand our client base in this industry, serving a wider area of people with our extensive work comp knowledge. Also, the more we learn, the more insight we have to share with the Spectrum* Partners and CDX.

*Spectrum is a state of the art operating system we developed that allows independent rating bureaus to function more efficiently.

Q: What projects is the Workers’ Compensation division currently engaged in?

A: Right now, we are at the final phase of a large technology upgrade for the Spectrum product that should be wrapping up by the end of the year, finishing version 4.0.

We are also in the process of contacting and visiting local insurance agencies.

Q: What are you hoping to gain from these visits?

A: Going along with our work comp focus, we are in the process of scheduling meetings with key workers’ compensation insurance companies and agencies. We want to ask them questions and learn what their needs are to see what ways we can be of help to them, knowing what we know about insurance technology.

Q: What is the next step for the Workers’ Compensation department?

A: While delivering our ongoing maintenance and support for both the CDX and Spectrum systems, we are also preparing for growth in 2013.

We are in the process of developing and creating a few new products that we are excited about, which include an iPad app for one of our insurance carriers, customizing a field force automation product for a local work comp company, and delivering other custom software projects to a variety of our clients.
