This year’s annual NCACC Conference was a hit. We spoke with former president of the NCACC, David Young, and Farragut’s own CEO, Shail Jain, to get the highlights of what you missed if you weren’t able to attend.
“The venue this year was outstanding”, Young tells us. “We were in a hotel that connected to the meeting facility and we were within walking distance of a lot of restaurants. It was very unique in that aspect and made the conference interesting and fun.”
The County Manager’s Luncheon, sponsored by Farragut, was both Young and Jain’s favorite event. For Young it was a time to meet a number of new faces and reconnect with old friends. For Jain, it was an opportunity to meet and get to know the executive branch of our local government. “These are the people who are directly impacted by our products and services,” says Jain. He has a passion for local government and believes it is important for him to get to know his customers.
“For me personally,” says Jain, “it was significant to understand the purpose of this 100 year old organization. I knew it conceptually but got to experience and understand how the leadership for the NCACC works.”
Both Young and Jain also enjoyed the President’s Dinner and the inauguration of the new NCACC President, Howard J. Hunter, III. As a former NCACC president, Young appreciated seeing a new year begin with new leadership and both liked the opportunity to get to know the other attendees better. Jain especially enjoyed the SAS VocalMotion Show Choir performance during dinner.
Jain looks forward to next year’s NCACC Conference and plans to have an even stronger presence from the Farragut staff so that more of us can have the opportunity to meet with the very people whose work lives are affected by the products and services that we offer.
